This might well have been my last ditch attempt to find answers outside my self for things concerning the inside so i thank the creator of this new yet old (story) system for assisting this “enlightenment”. Deal is: if we are indeed so great and filled with potential as humans from the get go then it just might be stupid to think others will figure that out for us so i don't blame those coming up with brilliant ideas to make money as the creator of the gene keys.After all: it most likely wont hurt anyone, may leave some (like my self) cold and unimpressed. I bought the book in a difficult time in my life at repeated friendly suggestions and actually sat down and read a chapter every day. The text is simple yet still way overcomplicated for the somewhat lacking real substance. Once you start exploring this great wealth of “wisdom” you will discover that almost every segment has a rather real $ price (stuff to buy to unlock the knowledge Lol) and since i joined one of the major gene keys facebook group at that time, sifting trough the member’s postings i found quite a bunch of new agey garbage flandured about. Now there is indeed some negative to this whole gene keys stuff: like all self help systems I am familiar with, it prays on those in a constant state of self dissatisfaction, those who feel they need fixing and paradoxically tend to believe they are somehow special and must achieve these amazing things in life otherwise it’s just not worth it. And it is all pointless unless it’s validated by a book, a system of thought, a prophetic figure or a group.Fact is: i’m yet to meet the one who met God trough the pages of a book or whom has deciphered the great mystery of life by reading someone else’s text. In fact i’m yet to meet the one who read or thought them selves into a substantially better person (maybe more intelligent but that's about it).Also what’s wrong with just being a human born on a random day into a measurable material form of existence that needs to eat, drink, breathe, procreate, experience emotions and eventually die. And along the way perhaps do no harm and birth some joy. Knowing your self is a lot more efficient and less expensive by going within and posing the great questions rather then seeking them from someone else’s lips. There are already plentiful belief systems we are not even aware we live by to add another anxious pile of garbage to them.I would say don’t waste you money it’s not “the thing” not even close. It’s at best a reshuffle on astrology, i-ching and some new agey enlightenment philosophy. And yess, it’s neither factual nor great like all religious mumbo jumbo tends to be. It’s someone’s brilliant idea to make an extra buck basing on a major human weakness in our modern day: insecurity and the idea that there is some definite plan to life, a way to understand and control it that is esoterical (non-comonsensical) in nature and will yeald a better state of being and almost inevitably more “abundence” (aka money) by finding your “purpose”...as there is a preset purpose (aka expectation) Or great potential that we are just not aware of unless we explore the gene keys for example.Want to invest into something that works: invest some time into your self to be with your self, in a stilled body, a silent mind and just be for a few minutes every day. Meditate and all the answers you seek shall come to you and at times your own questions will start cracking you up:) I actually initially wanted to buy this book because I have been doing shadow work for a while now with no proper direction whatsoever, so when I stumbled on the concept of gene keys, I expected that knowing a person’s overall hologenetic profile could help with overcoming some blocks in a person’s quest for attaining quality life. I also took some time to look at the Gene Keys website to find out more, and I tried analyzing my own profile (both the human design which is from the Human Design site and the hologenetic profile generated in the Gene Keys website). I guess even with a bit of information I was able to deduce how to face my own shadows and transmute them in some way.Now here is the part where many people might disagree with me because this book has changed their lives profoundly.I feel like the book is too contemplative and is from only one particular viewpoint. Not sure why I didn’t get much excitement as I did when I was delving into the website, and those where only a few sentences each. I was expecting to be a lot more energized when reading this book because there was a whole lot more information. But as I started reading, I guess I got affected in a way that I just can’t put my finger on. Also, to be honest, the only thing in the book are the Gene Keys, which are of course quite important because it IS about the gene keys, and they’re basically the cellular I-ching, but everything else that I was expecting to find were not there. Maybe that’s how the creator of the work wanted it (because there are other books in the series), or maybe I can only resonate with the lessons up to a certain point. Or maybe both? Not sure.For fairness’ sake I tried reading random gene keys not in my chart and some from my own hologenetic chart. As I post this, how I feel about the book is still the same. Some things are omitted, some are missing, but at this point everything resonates with me so far. But yeah, some huge chunks are missing and I guess it’s a bit of a turn-off for me, or maybe I wasn’t informed that this book was ONLY about the gene keys, and for other options I could read the additional information on the website, or I could go enrol in the advanced online courses, or I go transmute my shadows on my own based on what my intuition tells me to.Maybe I was putting too much hope in this book, or I just had high expectations. Or maybe now is not the right time for me to read this book. At any rate, I’m just voicing out my opinions so if you feel that your life changed because of this book, then good for you. I might come back to this book after a year, and maybe edit this review but for the moment, nay for me.
